West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has reignited an intense bidding war between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Holder’s base price for Australia-born Australian is Rs 1 crore; CSK have outbid KKR to secure him at an asking price of over that mark; Jordan Cox remains in high demand despite not yet reaching Rs 4 crore; however RCB have secured him for a base price of just 75 lakh rupees.

Leg-spinner Mayank Markande has returned to Mumbai Indians (MI), following a successful trade from Gujarat Titans (GT). At 27-years-old, Mayank has played in five IPL seasons for three different franchises and was an integral part of GT’s Purple Cap-winning squad in 2023 – garnering him 37 wickets overall in total.

Sam Curran has made the switch from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Rajasthan Royals at his existing league fee of INR 2.4 crore following a trade. Curran will represent Rajasthan Royals for the first time, having previously represented Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad during previous IPL seasons.

India batter Prithvi Shaw was initially disappointed after being passed over in the initial rounds of auction, but quickly responded on social media when his name surfaced during an accelerated round of unsold players and ultimately was chosen by Delhi Capitals for Rs 1.75 crore.

New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee was the second most expensive player of the auction, purchased by KKR for Rs 8.75 crore and will provide depth and cover to their pace attack. Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada also garnered multiple bids at this event; similarly Yashpal Yadav, Varun Aaron and Mohammad Siraj all attracted multiple offers during bidding processes.
