India Women are inching closer to completing an impressive sweep against West Indies Women in their three-match ODI series. Smriti Mandhana, Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues scored fifties as Harmanpreet Kaur led India Women posted 358 for five in their first innings.
Hayley Matthews made an ardent effort, scoring an unbeaten century; however, this proved futile as Titas Sadhu, Priya Mishra and Deepti Sharma quickly struck wickets to restrict Australia to just 243 in 46.2 overs – giving India an immense 115 run victory margin!
Harmanpreet Kaur
Kaur is an all-round batting all-rounder who has been an integral member of India’s team in all formats of cricket for several years, particularly during 2017 Women’s World Cup semi-final victory against Australia. Her performance over time has been outstanding.
After Mithali Raj left in 2016, she took on captaincy of India and has proven a reliable leader ever since. Her steady leadership has seen them ascend the international rankings while she is also known for her on-field aggression which motivates teammates.

She made her senior debut for Maharashtra at age 13 and captained their side at 16. Soon thereafter, she made an impressionful statement on an international platform.
She is India’s top run scorer in One Day Internationals (ODIs), having notched several centuries. Additionally, she’s an excellent fielder who forms an essential component of the team; furthermore, her leadership abilities were highlighted when she led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win a Women Premier League (WPL) Championship title in 2024.
Renuka Singh Thakur

Out! Shamilia Connell miscues one from Priya Mishra to mid-off and brings to an end West Indies’ innings; now they face an impossible target. Zaida James bowls in her next over and gets Saima Thakor off her bowling arm!
Jemimah Rodrigues
Jemimah Rodrigues was instrumental in India’s huge total. She combined well with opener Smriti Mandhana and formed an outstanding 183-run partnership with Harleen Deol, leading India towards its grandiose total.
Rodrigues expressed her pleasure with her performance and hopes it is just the start. Additionally, Rodrigues mentioned how important her parents and sister have been as sources of support during this experience; all three were present for this match at the stadium.
Jemimah’s contribution was supplemented by Karishma Ramharack and Titas Sadhu who took three and two wickets respectively, contributing significantly to India’s strong bowling performance that limited Ireland to just 195 runs; even Deandra Dottin’s 52-ball half century couldn’t lead West Indies past their target.

Saima Thakor is an indomitable fast bowler who always strives to push herself. Sunetra Paranjape recognizes Saima’s talent and sees great promise in her.
She is one of India’s most promising young cricketers and has worked tirelessly at her game over recent years to achieve success. Her performances have been remarkable.
She will look to continue her impressive form in the second ODI. Having scored half-centuries in both matches, she believes the pitch will present Windies with an extremely challenging chase; thus they must bat well to avoid an innings defeat.
