Afghanistan
Afghanistan and Bangladesh share an affinity in cricket, producing nail-biting encounters on both sides of the border. Their heated rivalry has captured the interest of fans worldwide; each side brings something different that makes them highly competitive against one another.

Afghanistan will rely on Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan as its go-to players, while Mohammad Shahzad returns after recovering from finger injury. Meanwhile, talented left-hand batter Sediqullah Atal has also been added to their lineup as cover for Ibrahim Zadran who remains injured; Atal has previously played six T20Is for Afghanistan so will hope to extend this run in Bangladesh.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will serve as captain for the series against Bangladesh while Mehidy Hasan Miraz serves as vice-captain. Additionally, two uncapped pacers and wicketkeeper Jaker Ali are expected to travel later this week from India to United Arab Emirates for this ODI series.
T20s
Afghanistan entered this game as underdogs and put up an impressive performance, dominating bowling, fielding batsmen who could manage conditions and scoring an impressive 252-run total. Bangladesh experienced their first-ever One Day International defeat at Afghanistan’s hands – ending an unbeaten 13 match run!

Bangladesh openers Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar started well, striking boundaries off any loosener that came their way. Unfortunately, as their innings progressed they struggled against Rashid’s spin and lost wickets regularly.
Mahmudullah then emerged in the middle and made an extraordinary 92 from 75 balls – punctuated by two fours and four sixes – to anchor Bangladesh’s innings and put them on track towards reaching 300 runs. Together with Tanzim Hasan Sakib he formed a 92-run partnership which put Bangladesh on course towards their target.
