Kolkata Knight Riders strengthened their place in the top four by defeating Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in an interrupted game at Eden Gardens due to rain, sealing their spot in the play-offs.

MI openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma made a solid start by scoring quickly during the PowerPlay, scoring 59 runs without loss in 12 overs, but Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy regained control with some disciplined bowling from both of them.
