Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade stands as one of the greatest basketball players ever seen on an NBA court, boasting three NBA Championships and an Olympic Gold medal to his credit. Drafted as fifth pick in 2003 NBA Draft, Wade quickly established himself as an unstoppable force both on and off the court.
Wade has enjoyed a 16-year career that has brought him three NBA Championships, two Olympic gold medals and thirteen All-Star appearances. Additionally, Wade has built up an excellent community leadership reputation through the Wade Family Foundation which provides relief to marginalized communities while using its platform to advance social change. TIME magazine recognized Wade for his dedication as an outstanding community leader when they named him one of their “20 Most Influential People in the World” in 2020 with its cover featuring him as an iconic black and white photo.
Wade retired from the NBA and soon thereafter transitioned to commentator and analyst roles for TNT event coverage and their Tuesday studio show. Additionally, he works as creative director at Bleacher Report and boasts an extensive endorsement portfolio. Furthermore, Wade completed Harvard University’s Business of Entertainment Media and Sports program where his approach to brand partnerships served as the basis of an MBA course case study and Executive Education programs.
LeBron James
LeBron James, commonly referred to as King James, is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a three-time champion, four-time MVP, and two-time Finals MVP – as well as having been selected first overall in 2003 draft and widely considered one of the greatest players ever seen in league history.
James was raised in Akron, Ohio and attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School where he earned national high-school player of the year honors during his junior year en route to three state championship wins and appearing on Sports Illustrated as “The Chosen One”. James signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers shortly after graduating high school in 2003.
Though James had an inconsistent early career, he made his mark during the playoffs. In 2006 he led his team to its inaugural appearance in an NBA finals since 1977 by defeating Detroit Pistons in seven games and in 2007 led them back into another rematch against San Antonio Spurs, only this time falling short again in a five-game series.
After an inauspicious start to his season, James has been consistently healthy throughout this week and appears ready to return to action in Sunday’s rematch against Utah. While rest days might still be necessary for one-half sets, James should still be well enough to play all 80 minutes.
Dion Waiters
Dion Waiters led Miami Heat’s comeback win against Cleveland with 29 points, leading them both quarters as Miami dominated. Waiters was especially impressive from three point range (5-10). Wayne Ellington came off the bench to contribute 18 points as well as five assists and one block.
