Pitch Analysis in T20Is

The T20 format has played the most in Chinnaswamy Stadium, so let’s see some stats of T20Is. The average score in this stadium is 167, on the other hand, the average wicket is 6. The highest score in this stadium was 228/4 and this score was also chased due to which the record of highest chase score was also made the same. On the other side, the highest defensive score was 207/4.

The pitch is more batting-friendly, and the wicket is generally hard and flat which offers less assistance to bowlers. The ball comes nicely to the batsman which makes them easy to hit to the stadium and scores easy runs, especially in shorter format.

This stadium has seen many high-scoring results in both the limited over formats; ODI and T20. The team has easily breached 200 in T20Is and 300 in ODIs on this pitch. \

Ball Seam and Swing Condition

During early morning periods, the pitch may offer assistance to the bowlers with a seam, and sometimes Bengulur’s weather conditions help to seam the ball during humidity.

But due to bowl roughing, the seam and swing diminish which offers short-lived to the bowlers, hence the batsman can dominate the pitch.

Impact on three different formats:

Test Matches:

During tests, the pitch offers a balanced condition between bat and ball, as the tests last up to 5 days, in the first session batsman can dominate the pitch but as the game progresses spinner comes into play.

The pitch starts more bouncy and make it challenges the batsman to stay on the crease, as the day passes bowl starts turning and bouncing.

Hence, for the test condition pitch is more suitable and gives batsmen and bowlers an equal chance to dominate.

Limitet-Overs; ODIs and T20s

The pitch is more famous for the limited overs, especially for the T20 format. Where bowlers find difficulty to take wickets meanwhile batsman dominates the pitch. The flat surface of the pitch along with short boundaries make it easy to dominate by the batsman. Teams winning tosses always prefer to chase, as scoring runs under light makes it chasable.

In short, the flat surface of the pitch makes it easy to score runs in both the innings and on the other hand make it hard for the bowlers.
