Beginning his career as a domestic tournament participant and rapidly climbing through the ranks; today the Maharashtra player is an IPL superstar with much yet to accomplish!
Gaikwad hails from Pargaon Memane village in Purandar taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra and was born January 31, 1997 into a middle-class family with parents Dasharath Gaikwad working for Defence Research Development Organisation and Sawita teaching at municipal school – both had always encouraged education despite it becoming his focus as an individual player. They valued his studies just as highly.
Gaikwad was chosen to represent Maharashtra in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy at just 17 years of age and made a magnificent debut against Uttar Pradesh with 220 runs – an astonishing performance indeed! Since then he has become an essential member of CSK squad. Thanks to his hard work and perseverance he earned himself selection in India national team as well.
Gaikwad has quickly established himself on the international cricket circuit. He has participated in multiple T20I and ODI matches for India with remarkable results; while making an impressionful mark during IPL seasons by winning multiple titles with CSK.

Furthermore, his personal life is flourishing, being happily married to Utkarsha Pawar who plays on Maharashtra women’s cricket team as well.
Many are impressed with Gaikwad’s batting prowess, yet few know about his other talents. Notably, he is also an outstanding bowler, often surprising opponents by picking up speed and bowling quick deliveries at crucial moments of a match – taking wickets when needed and turning games on their head with just a few overs of bowling.
Gaikwad loves watching sports of all kinds and regularly cheers for Indian athletes competing in disciplines like hockey and badminton. Additionally, his passion lies with cars; he owns several BMW M8s as well as a Jawa 42 Bobber motorcycle. Gaikwad has long been an admirer of MS Dhoni and has tried to copy his style on the field.
