Shivam Dube was born in Mumbai, India, but his father is from the village of Manikpur in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.
Shivam Dube is an all-rounder who brings great value to any team he plays for. A power hitter and moderate pace bowler, he quickly adapts to new situations within cricket – something which was evident with his presence during Indian Premier League competition and continues today.
He began playing cricket at an early age thanks to his supportive father who encouraged his son’s participation by taking him regularly to local grounds to practice for hours on end. Through hard work he soon earned himself selection into Mumbai Under-23 team before beginning regular Ranji Trophy innings where his performances soon established him as an asset within domestic cricket.
In 2019, he made his international debut for both T20Is and ODIs for his country before joining Chennai Super Kings’ IPL squad in 2022 – where he flourished greatly and showed his true potential.
Dube is a left-handed batsman who possesses the ability to hit hard. His understanding of limited-overs cricket allows him to score runs under pressure situations. Additionally, Dube can bowl at medium pace and pick up wickets during key moments during matches.
Bowling was always one of his strengths, yet in 2021 IPL it was his bowling which earned him recognition when he recorded two five-wicket hauls for Royal Challengers Bangalore – leading other franchises to purchase him at an extremely high price.
Dube has quickly established himself as a sought-after player for both domestic and international cricket teams due to his bating and bowling ability. His performances in Mumbai Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy tournaments have made him an invaluable member of Mumbai teams; and have even led to regular selection for India A squads.
He is an exceptional talent with great potential to develop further over time. A hardworking player who thrives under pressure, he could play an essential part of Indian cricket team for years to come.
